WHO I AM
(c) Kelly Christian
The more things change, the more they stay the same. That cliche is a rather fitting phrase for this song. I believe I was stumbling through life's many decisions and changes, trying to keep my feet under me, and I said to myself, something like, "When the hell will I learn?!" Sort of one of those identity crisis moments that go along with facing great changes. I just kind of rambled on from there, added some personal introspection and maybe a quote or two from an ex-girlfriend and voila! You have the song you see before you, "Who I am."
~ Kelly Christian

Yesterday I woke up,
The day that I was born
Stopped to smell the roses,
But all I got were thorns
I don't believe you know me,
I don't know myself
Looking in the mirror
I see someone else

Who am I?
Who the hell am I?

When will I learn?
When will I know?
When will I see?
The lonely face behind the mirror is...
Walking in my shoes
Where do I stand?
Pictures I see;
They look like me so tell me who I am

Drowning in my river,
Swimming up my stream
The 'King of Fallen Angels,'
She became my 'Queen'
I don't believe you know her,
But she's all around
Then these words came tumbling, falling from her mouth:
"Who am I?"
"Who the hell am I?"

When will I learn?
When will I know?
When will I see?
The lonely face behind the mirror is...
Walking in my shoes
Where do I stand?
Pictures I see;
They look like me so tell me who I am

I believe I hear so many voices in my head
Ringing in my ears like all the things should have said
Look into my eyes you'll see the laughter in my tears
Fantasies and photographs of all my 'golden years'

When will I learn?
When will I know?
When will I see?
The lonely face behind the mirror is...
Walking in my shoes
Where do I stand?
Pictures I see;
They look like me so tell me who I am
